BRAINIACS from Sheffield beat off stiff competition to be crowned winners of a nationwide pub quiz contest.

Team members, from the Robin Hood pub on Millhouses Lane, share a £4,000 prize after being named champions in the Great Ember Quiz, which raised cash for the Make a Wish Foundation.

A WOMAN in her 70s was treated for breathing difficulties after her home started filling with smoke when soot fell down her chimney.

Firefighters were called out to deal with the incident at a house on Browning Road, Fox Hill, Sheffield, on Sunday evening.

FIREFIGHTERS were called out after flames from a rubbish fire in a garden spread to a mattress leaning against an shed.

The blaze on Beresford Road, Maltby, Rotherham, was at 10.55pm on Sunday.
