WORD workshops designed to unleash people’s inner writer are on offer in Sheffield.

The Lost for Word sessions take place at Sheffield Independent School of Art, South View Road, every Wednesday from November 7 and last from 7pm until 9pm.

Participants are asked to make a donation of £2.

Charity pole dance

A SHOWCASE in pole dancing will raise charity cash.

Pole 4 Purpose is at Queen’s Social Club, Queens Road, Sheffield, tonight from 6pm.

Funds raised will be donated to South Yorkshire Eating Disorder Association, Tickled Pink and Everyman.

Fun for youngsters

STORIES, songs and nursery rhymes are on offer to youngsters at Barnsley library.

The Shambles Street building hosts pre-school groups every Tuesday, from 10am until 10.45am and again from 1.45pm until 2pm.

Grab festive gifts

Gifts, bric a brac and a nearly-new stall will be on offer at a Christmas fair at Creswick Greave Methodist Church, Parson Cross, Sheffield on Saturday, November 24. from 10am. Admission is 20p.
