NEWS IN BRIEF: Three cars broken into on same night

THREE cars parked on Rundle Road, Sharrow, Sheffield, were all broken into on the same night. The cars, one of which was left unlocked, were targeted overnight on Sunday into Monday last week. On the same night another unlocked car was broken into on Archer Road, Millhouses.

METAL was stolen from an electricity substation on Chippinghouse Road, Sharrow, Sheffield, overnight on Monday into Tuesday last week.

A laptop computer was stolen from a house on Wayland Road, Sharrow, after a door was left unlocked on Sunday, May 13. Two days earlier a house on Alexandra Road, Heeley, was broken into when glass in a door was smashed.

EMERGENCY services dealt with a two car collision on the northbound stretch of the M1 between junctions 29a and 30 at Chesterfield and Clowne.

Two casualties were treated at the scene at 11.50am on Friday.

SOUTH Yorkshire Police’s helicopter helped to find a group of men who fled through gardens when they were spotted trying to steal a car in Brampton Bierlow. Officers on the ground arrested them.

A NISSAN Micra found burning on Claywheels Lane, Wadsley, had been deliberately set alight. Firefighters were called at 11.30pm.
