NEWS IN BRIEF: Teenager mugged for mobile phone

A BOY aged 17 had his mobile phone stolen during a street robbery on Blackstock Road, Gleadless Valley, Sheffield.

Two 17-year-old suspects have been charged over the offence, committed at 9.40pm on August 15.

In Lowfield, cash was stolen from a man who was mugged on Myrtle Road at 11.30pm on August 24. Police are looking for a white man, around 23 years old.

Thieves attack cars

A CAR was taken from Norton Avenue, Norton, Sheffield, after its keys were stolen from the house outside where it was parked overnight on August 23. In Heeley tools and parts were stolen from a car lot on Artisan View overnight on Monday last week. And aerials were stolen from cars parked on Hazelbarrow Road and Ormond Way, Jordanthorpe, on Saturday night.

Playground arson

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a children’s playground on Pearson Crescent, Wombwell, Barnsley, to a pile of rubbish set alight on Thursday night.
