A LAND ROVER stolen from Lupton Road, Lowedges, Sheffield, was found abandoned nearby.

And South Yorkshire Police said two Land Rovers stolen from Derbyshire were recently found in Batemoor.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.

Black cabs raided

FIVE black cabs parked in and around Heeley and Gleadless Valley were all broken into on Tuesday and Wednesday night.

The cars were on Nicholson Road, Myrtle Drive, Derby Street, Myrtle Close and Callow Mount.

Inspector Ian Stubbs, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “If you are a taxi driver please be vigilant and don’t leave any cash on display in your vehicle, even small amounts of change.”

Heat system theft

A CENTRAL heating system was stolen from an unoccupied house on Atlantic Road, Lowedges, Sheffield.

Police are investigating.

Garage on fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a garage found alight on Normanville Avenue, Brinsworth, Rotherham, and a derelict property found burning on Palmerston Road, Crookesmoor, Sheffield.

Recruits take oath

TEN new recruits to the Army will be taking oaths of allegiance at an evening to celebrate the success of a new army preparation course at Sheffield’s Cutlers’ Hall on Tuesday evening.

The course put on by Nacro Sheffield is for young people who want to develop new skills and progress into the armed forces. The event will be attended by learners and their families, Nacro staff, and Army personnel.

Blood donation plea

SOUTH Yorkshire residents are being urged to carry on donating blood in the run-up to Christmas, as blood stocks tend to run low over the festive break.

The NHS Blood and Transplant service is holding a blood donor session at Newton Hall, Cowley Lane, Chapeltown, on Christmas Eve, between 10am and 2.30pm.
