POLICE and fire experts are investigating the cause of a blaze in a Peak District barn

Fire crews from Fire crews from Bradwell and Buxton were alerted to the fire at Church Lane, Tideswell, at around 7.40pm on Thursday.

They discovered a small amount of paper and straw had been on fire in the first floor of the barn.

Woodland blaze:

A woodland fire in the Peak District village of Eyam was brought under control by firefighters. Crews from Chesterfield station were alerted to the blaze which affected a 15 square metre area of woodland off Riley Back Lane.

Bike in flames:

A motorbike was dumped and set alight in Barkers Park, off Redscope Crescent, Kimberworth, Rotherham, and another was set on fire in St Mary’s Road, Darfield, Barnsley. A car was torched on Midland Road, Royston, Barnsley. A firebug set a Vauxhall Corsa alight on Edgewell Drive, Birley Edge.

Shed arson:

A shed went up in flames on Palgrave Road, Southey Green, Sheffield. The blaze was started deliberately. Meanwhile wheelie bins were found alight on Ashgate Road, Chesterfield, and The Crescent, Brimington.
