LIGHT up Sheffield at free workshops throughout February and March in preparation for Sharrow Lantern Carnival on April 1.

Workshops start on February 4 in the old junior school hall on South View, and at Highfield Trinity Church Hall off London Road. Volunteers are also needed to run them. Email creativeactionnetwork@gmail.com

Fire plan meeting

A PUBLIC meeting to discuss the closure of Darnall fire station is to take place tonight.The event takes place at The Church of Christ, Station Road, Darnall, from 7pm, to give residents the chance to comment and ask questions. The fire service is planning to create a new fire station near Sheffield Parkway to replace Darnall and Mansfield Road stations. The fire service must cut £4 million a year.

Book quiz fun

Medieval project

FIND out about a new project searching for the ordinary medieval people of Castleton and Hope. Dr Bill Bevan will give a talk – Medieval Hope and Castleton, What We Know – and refreshments will be provided at Castleton Village Hall on January 30 from 7.30pm.
