AN INITIATIVE which helps tenants in South Yorkshire Housing Association properties receive personalised help for care needs has won the company a nomination in a care awards.

The housing organisation began in 1972 and is the largest provider of care and supported housing throughout the Sheffield region. Its Options programme is shortlisted in the personalisation category at the 2012 Independent Specialist Care Awards.

Charity champs

SHEFFIELD solicitors Taylor and Emmet have completed their most successful year of fundraising ever. The company collected £10,140 for chosen charity St Luke’s Hospice, making the firm the charity’s top corporate sponsor of 2011.

Half-pints’ party

THE HALF Moon pub on Mather Road in Manor, Sheffield, staged a Christmas party for the children of regulars, with games and presents for every child. .

Nativity scene

EASTWOOD Methodist Church, Rotherham, is displaying a life-size Mother and Child Nativity scene in the entrance during the 12 days of Christmas.
