A CHILDREN’S charity is seeking South Yorkshire cyclists to sign up for a bike ride through the Peak District this summer.

The event on June 10 will raise money for Action Medical Research. Participants can cycle 100 miles or tackle a shorter 60-mile route near Mam Tor and Froggatt, the Hope and Goyt Valleys and the Derbyshire Dales. Visit www.action.org.uk/peakdistrict100 to register.

Well attended

MORE than 4,500 children from 150 schools across South Yorkshire have attended a Lifewise Centre at Hellaby, Rotherham, since it opened last September. The centre is run by South Yorkshire Police and the county’s fire service. It runs sessions on crime, fire, road and internet safety.

Charity show

A FUNDRAISING night of live music will raise cash for two charities. The Asperger’s Awareness night takes place at West Street Live in Sheffield from 7pm on Thursday. Entry is free but donations would be appreciated for Asperger’s Children and Carers Together and ASD Friendly.
