NEWS IN BRIEF: Car set alight deliberately

A VAUXHALL Corsa was set alight in Blackamoor Road, Swinton, at 3.45am yesterday. Firefighters from Dearne station tackled the blaze which was started deliberately. In Wath Upon Dearne, another Vauxhall Corsa was set alight in Green Lane at 4.15am yesterday. The car was parked near stables and fire crews spent 30 minutes tackling the blaze.

A BARNSLEY schoolgirl who went missing has been found safe and well. Jessica Bisby, aged 14, was reported missing from school in Wombwell, Barnsley, but was found following a police appeal on Thursday for information about her whereabouts.

RUBBISH in an outhouse at a Sheffield school was set alight in an arson attack. The blaze at St Patrick’s in Swanbourne Road, Shiregreen, was started at 7.10pm on Thursday night and fire crews were at the scene for 20 minutes.

A BLAZE broke out at a derelict garden centre on Hollingbush Lane in Stocksbridge, Sheffield. The fire was started deliberately just before 9pm on Thursday and dealt with by crews from Stocksbridge fire station.

A COMMERCIAL skip was torched in Westgate, Monk Bretton, Barnsley in the early hours of yesterday. Firefighters from Barnsley station were called to the scene at 2.55am and put out the blaze in 20 minutes.
