NEWS IN BRIEF: Car number plate thieves hunted

POLICE in Sheffield are investigating the theft of number plates taken from cars parked on Hutchinson Road, Millhouses and Thirlwell Road, Meersbrook.

Officers are also looking into the theft of a part from a lorry parked on Norton Lees Lane, Norton Lees and spotlights taken from a car parked on Spring Close View, Gleadless Valley.

They are also looking into the attempted theft of part of the bonnet of a Land Rover parked on Prospect Court, Totley, Sheffield.

Heating stolen

A CENTRAL heating system was stolen from an unoccupied house on Fleury Road, Gleadless Valley, Sheffield.Police are investigating.

Golf club break-in

A GREENKEEPER’S hut at the Dore and Totley Golf Club has been broken into and a shed on Lees Hall Place, Meersbrook, has also been raided. Police are investigating.

Cannabis plant find

CANNABIS plants were seized by police following raids at houses on Middle Hay View, Gleadless Valley and Greenway, Greenhill.

Drugs and firearm parts were recovered from a house on Chesterfield Road, Woodseats, in another raid.

Burglars strike

HOMES on Pearson Place, Woodseats and Midhill Road, Lowfield, were both broken into after burglars forced open the rear doors.

A property on Lees Hall Avenue, Norton Lees, was broken into when the patio doors were forced and a burglar got into a house on Cockayne Place, Woodseats, through an insecure door.

Police in Sheffield are investigating all three incidents.

Land Rover stolen

POLICE are searching for a Land Rover stolen from St Quentin View, Bradway, Sheffield. It was taken when it was parked up overnight on Thursday into Friday.
