ARSONISTS were responsible for blazes which destroyed cars and a motorbike.

A Cherokee Jeep was set on fire on Windhill Lane, Staincross, Barnsley, at 12.30am on Saturday.

Meanwhile, a BMW car was engulfed on Cliffe Common Lane, Wortley, at 11.30pm on Saturday.

And a motorbike was destroyed on Cricket Inn Road, Wybourn, Sheffield, at 12.30am on Sunday.

FIVE days of strike action planned for this week at Chesterfield’s Remploy factory over plans to sell the site to a private firm has been suspended.

The GMB and Unite trade unions are holding talks with management. Both unions are concerned about the impact on workers’ terms and conditions and fear job losses may result.

A FIRE in bin chutes in a block of flats on Greenland Drive, Darnall, Sheffield, was an arson attack.

Nobody in the flats was affected by the fire at 2am on Sunday.

A PILE of wood went up in flames after an arson attack on an allotment plot on Hartley Lane, Masbrough, Rotherham.

The blaze was reported at 3.50pm on Sunday.
