Marathon plan for Crookes man

CROOKES man Sean Vintin has signed up to take part in the toughest race in the world - the Marathon Des Sables.

Mr Vintin, aged 34, was inspired to take part in the 57-mile ultra marathon after seeing a documentary about the run six years ago.

He is raising £2,000 for the Cats Protection League and the Fibromyalgia Association.

New food awards

SCHOOLS and childcare providers in South Yorkshire are being invited to join a new national award scheme organised by the Children’s Food Trust, to recognise champions of healthy eating and nutrition for children.

Jumble sale

A JUMBLE sale takes place at Dronfield Civic Centre next Thursday, April 18 to raise funds for children’s charity Barnardo’s.

The event is in the Peel Centre, between 9am and 4pm and every item costs £1.
