Chance to quiz film maker Loach

A ONE-OFF opportunity to put movie maker Ken Loach on the spot about his latest film is coming to Sheffield.

The nationwide screening of his documentary, ‘The Spirit of ‘45’ will be featured at The Showroom cinema, Sheffield, Sunday, March 17 at 3pm. The film is about post-World War II government and follows the start and early success of the welfare state.

After the showing, viewers will have the chance to text or Tweet Ken Loach via satellite in a live Q&A session.

Community Day

WOMBWELL Tenants and Residents Association are holding a Community Information Day on Friday, March 15.

There will also be representatives from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, police, Voluntary Action Barnsley, and Berneslai Homes, and takes place from 10am to 4pm at the Wombwell Operatic Centre on George Street.

A BOOK fair at Café Rouge on Ecclesall Road, Sheffield, raised over £140 for Comic Relief - the restaurant chain’s charity of the year.
