It’s weekend story time in Parson Cross

A BOOK inspired by Parson Cross will be launched this Saturday at the Learning Zone, Wordsworth Avenue, from 11am to 1pm.

PX Story is a work of fiction developed by artist Ania Bas during a year-long residency in the neighbourhood.

Visitors on Saturday can collect a free copy of the book, have a go at giant cross-stitch, badge and sticker making, and watch live performances and films.

Good luck to firms

SHEFFIELD recruitment firm Benchmark has been shortlisted for a 2013 Transform Award - along with city design firm Attract which designed its rebrand.

Director Amy Tingle said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted and so pleased to see Attract’s fantastic work being recognised.

The awards dinner will be held on March 19 at The Brewery in London.

Mattress set on fire

A MATTRESS was dumped and set ablaze in the garden of a house in St Augustine’s Mount, Chesterfield. There was fire damage to the house and police were called at 3.27am yesterday. Crews also put out a burning bin near the pavilion in Whittington Moor at 9.23pm on Monday.
