Shoppers donate to help St Luke’s

CUSTOMERS at the Sheffield branch of Waitrose supermarket have given a boost to St Luke’s Hospice.

The store is holding five collection days on behalf of the hospice’s 10 charity shops - and on the first day alone, customers dropped off 33 bags and boxes of clothing and household items worth an estimated £1,400 in income for St Luke’s.

The second event is tomorrow, when the St Luke’s collection van will be parked in the Waitrose car park on Ecclesall Road between 10am and 1pm.

Pantomime show

PANTO Beauty and the Beast is being performed at Walkley Ebenezer Church Hall on Greenhow Street, Walkley, until Saturday. Tickets for the Wesley and Ebenezer Amateur Dramatic Society show are £5 for adults and £3 for children. Call 0114 268 0052.

Cannabis haul

CANNABIS and cannabis plants were found by police during two separate raids in Wilson Close, Danesmoor, and Slater Street, Clay Cross, Chesterfield, last week. Sergeant Aidan Stones said inquiries are ongoing to trace the tenant of the property on Slater Street.
