Crash leaves driver with neck injuries

A MAN aged 20 was taken to hospital with neck and back injuries after a road crash in Heeley, Sheffield.

The smash happened at the junction of Broadfield Road and Sheldon Road at 9.45pm on Sunday. Fire crews cut the man free from the vehicle and the road was closed for about an hour.

Burglaries reported

A HOUSE on Marden Road in Nether Edge, Sheffield, was broken into when a window was smashed during the day on Saturday. In Woodseats a car was stolen from Cartmell Road overnight on Friday into Saturday. In Gleadless Valley a shed was broken into on Herdings View between Tuesday and Friday last week. Call 101.

Blaze in gas main

AN INVESTIGATION is under way into the cause of a blaze outside a flat on Standhill Crescent, New Lodge, Barnsley. Fire broke out near the gas main at 7.30pm on Saturday, but firefighters were able to prevent the flames from spreading into the flat.
