Abusive teenagers given a warning

A TEENAGER has been fined and another warned by police after behaving abusively at a bus stop.

The 18-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl were arrested after being offensive to officers who stopped to speak to them on Beetwell Street, Chesterfield. The older teen was given an £80 fixed penalty notice under the Public Order Act, and the girl is due to receive a formal warning.

A dispersal order is in place in the area until March, giving police the power to send away unruly youths.

Van was set ablaze

A BURNING van was put out by firefighters after being set alight by arsonists. The Ford van went up in flames on Rose Garth Avenue, Aston, Rotherham, at 4.40am yesterday. A crew from Aston station extinguished the fire.

Derelict garage fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a derelict garage set ablaze deliberately on Paper Mill Road, Shiregreen, Sheffield. Arsonists struck at 3pm on Tuesday, and the crew spent around an hour at the scene.
