A SPATE of car thefts is under investigation by police officers in Sheffield.

Cars have been targeted on Albert Road, St Ronan’s Road, Dyche Lane, Essendine Crescent, Jordonthorpe Crescent, Brook Road and Hazlebarrow Court.

A car was stolen from Albert Road, Meersbrook, overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday and a vehicle was stolen from Wake Road, Sharrow, overnight last Monday.

FIRE Chiefs in Derbyshire are warning motorists not to drive through standing water after receiving a high volume of calls from motorists stuck in floods caused by thawing snow.

They say motorists should slow down and avoid standing water where ever possible.

A spokesman said: “Do not attempt to drive through standing water as it may be deeper than you think.”

POLICE are investigating the theft of a boiler from a house on Batemoor Place, Batemoor, Sheffield, sometime over the last month.

Anyone with information should call 101.

A POLICE probe is underway into two burglaries on Adkins Road, Southey Green, on Monday.

Insp Simon Leake said: “Please be vigilant and make sure you lock your doors and put valuables out of view.”

POLICE have stepped up patrols in Killamarsh followwing an increase in reports of nuisance behaviour.

Residents have been growing increasingly about groups of young people gathering at Killamarsh Community Campus and at the Bull and Badger car park.

During December 2012 police received a total of 61 calls about nuisance behaviour in Killamarsh, 22 more incidents than during December 2011.

A SPATE of shed burglaries in Kimberworth, Rotherham, is being investigated by police.

The break-ins have been reported over the last week.

A MAN was arrested on suspicion of suppling and cultivating cannabis after police searched a house on Wordsworth Crescent, Parson Cross, Sheffield, on Thursday.
