Famous people in history lecture

Doncaster and District Family History Society start their 2013 programme later this month, with a talk by Frank Morley entitled: Who Do We Think They Are: Famous People of South Yorkshire.

The meeting is at the College for the Deaf on Leger Way, Doncaster, at 7.30pm, on Wednesday, January 30. Non-members are welcome to attend. Admission is £2.

United we eat

Tickhill’s annual Unity Supper is being served in the Methodist Schoolroom on Tuesday, January 22. The event will be attended by Church of England, Evangelical and Methodist church members as well as the Catholic community.

Access all areas

Town councillors at Hatfield have decided to remove an access barrier at the York Road recreation ground in Dunscroft because it was too narrow to allow disability scooters to get through.

The mane event

Doncaster Little Theatre presents a production of The Lion in Winter, set at the court of Henry II, from Monday to Saturday next week.
