NEWS IN BRIEF:

Don’t burn both ends of the candle

Tickhill residents can help people in Africa by saving their old candle stubs.

Anyone wondering what to do with their festive candles after they have been extinguished can place them in a box at the back of St Mary’s Church.

The candles will then be donated to the Central African Relief Trust so they can provide an income for families by recycling and selling them.

In Jo’s memory

Danum MS, the Doncaster branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, has thanked Iris Dryden for a donation of £250 which was collected at the funeral of her daughter, Jo, who died suddenly.

Ale and hearty

Doncaster Campaign for Real Ale members will be in the Tut’n’Shive in West Laith Gate on Monday evening for their monthly branch social.

Soft and gentle

Bawtry WI ladies meet on Wednesday in the New Hall for a pampering night.
