Woman fights for life after car crash

A WOMAN was left with life threatening injuries after her vehicle was in collision with another car.

The 58-year-old is being treated at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital for bleeding on the brain, after the red Peugeot 206 she was driving struck a grey Seat Altea at around 7.50pm on Friday evening.

The vehicles were travelling on Rotherway in Rotherham, towards the roundabout joining West Bawtry Road. The passenger of the other vehicle, a Sheffield man in his 40s, was not injured.

Police are appealing for witnesses including a man who stopped at the scene to help, but left saying he had to go to hospital. Call 101 quoting incident number 1056 of December 14.

Missing teen found

A ‘VULNERABLE’ teenage boy has been found safe and well after he went missing from Derbyshire.

Cameron McPherson, aged 15, went missing from Jubilee Gardens in New Mills, at around 11.30pm on Friday night. He was located by Derbyshire Police on Saturday afternoon.

Paper fire tackled

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a printing works on Shepcote Lane, Tinsley, Sheffield, after a pile of paper broke out in a trailer.

The fire at 7pm on Thursday has been logged as accidental.

Road closure

THE upper section of Worsbrough Road, Blacker Hill, Barnsley, will be closed between the side of the Royal Albert Public House to outside 36 Worsbrough Road, from today for three days while work is carried out on a sewer connection.

An alternative route will be available via Wentworth Road while the works are taking place.

Fridge gas leak

STAFF and customers were evacuated from Lloyds TSB on Bawtry Road, Wickersley, Rotherham, after ammonia started leaking from a fridge.

Firefighters wearing specialist protective equipment removed the fridge outside.

The alarm was raised at 9.40am on Friday.

Robberies charge

A MAN has been remanded in custody after being charged with six city centre robberies.

The man, from Norton Leeds, was arrested on suspicion of 13 offences.

TWO arrests have been made by police in Sheffield after a motorbike stolen from Upper Valley Road, Meersbrook, Sheffield, was put up for sale on Ebay.

A police spokesman said: “Officers purporting to be interested buyers met the sellers and delivered an early Christmas present - a set of handcuffs. The bike was recovered.”
