Thousands due at carol services

UP TO 2,500 people are expected to attend five Carols by Candlelight services at a Sheffield church.

The services will take place at Christ Church, Fulwood, at 5pm and 7.15pm on Saturday and 4pm, 6pm and 8pm on Sunday.

About 120 members of the congregation will gather to form a large choir and orchestra to lead the singing across the five services.

CAROL concerts with a difference are being held in Castleton – underground.

The carols by candlelight concerts take place in the Witches Cave, Treak Cliff Cavern, on Saturdays and Sundays December 15, 16, 22 and 23, at 2pm.

Tickets, priced £9 for adults and £5 for children, include a guided tour of the cave, glass of mulled wine and mince pie.

Festive theatre fun

YOUNG singers from Sheffield schools will present a festive mix of Christmas hits, classic favourites and traditional carols at the Library Theatre, Sheffield city centre, on Saturday, at 7.30pm.
