Motorist cut free from wrecked car

A DRIVER was freed from his car by firefighters after being hurt in a crash.

The collision happened on Whitecotes Lane, Chesterfield, at 8.10pm on Saturday, and involved two hatchbacks.

One driver was trapped by his injuries, and taken to hospital.

Artist’s new show

A SHEFFIELD artist who spent a year observing staff at work at Forgemasters is staging an exhibition of the paintings she created for the boardroom. Wilda Goyetche painted workers at the steel giant and the exhibition is open at her studio at 9a Hawley Street, from December 15 to 21 from 11am until 3pm.

Teens with talent

AUDITIONS for a new music competition aimed at teenagers are coming to Sheffield.

TeenStar is aimed specifically at adolescent singers, rappers and vocal groups. Auditions for the show are at Sheffield City Hall on February 23.

A-caroling we go

WADSLEY and Loxley Commoners go carol singing tonight at Wadsley Church Hall, Worrall Road, from 8pm.

There will be a small charge for entry but free seasonal refreshments will be on offer.
