M&S set to open at midnight

MARKS & Spencer stores in South Yorkshire will be open when the clock strikes midnight on December 23 so that last-minute shoppers can pick up food and gifts.

Stores which will be open from midnight on December 23 into 24 include Crystal Peaks, Rotherham Parkgate, Ecclesall Road.

Glasses success

A LAB manager at Specsavers Opticians at Crystal Peaks is celebrating after he gained a level 4 Diploma for Optical Technicians from the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers.

Stephen Poston, aged 44, from Deepcar, has been studying for the qualification for more than two years and is one of only 15 people in the UK to achieve the accolade this year.

Holy services

ROTHERHAM Minster will be holding Holy Communion Services at 11.30pm on Christmas Eve and 8am and 10.30am on Christmas Day.

There will also be a candlelit service with a nativity on Sunday, December 23 at 10.30am.

Free television

.OVER 75s are being reminded they are eligible for a free TV Licence.

More than 38,400 Sheffield residents already enjoy free television but not everyone eligible has claimed the perk.Those who are eligible can register online at TV Licensing or by calling 0300 790 6073.
