Dancing the night away at Christmas

Balby Carr Community Sports and Science College is holding a Winter Wonderland Christmas Dance Show on Tuesday, December 18, from 5.45pm to 8pm, with a range of different dance styles performed by Balby feeder primary schools and students aged 11-18.

Food and drink will be available for sale with a tombola, a raffle and some Christmas stalls.

Tickets are £3 for adults and £2 for children and OAPS.

Woodland grotto

bawtry and Doncaster branch of the British Heart Foundation has organised a Santa’s Grotto in Bawtry Forest on Saturday, December 8.

Children will have the opportunity to meet Santa from noon in the woodland area where Christmas trees are being sold.

Winter walk

Natural England has organised a Guided Winter Walk on Thorne Moors on Thursday, December 6, starting at 10am and covering four to five miles. There is no need to book, but visitors are asked to call 07766 420290 to check it is going ahead if the weather is bad.

Church events

The children of Tickhill Northgate Pre-School Playgroup will be performing their Nativity at St Mary’s Church on Saturday at 10.30am, and the annual Christingle Service in the same church takes place the following day, December 9, at 3pm.

Lunch concert

Pianist Li Chug will be performing the lunch-hour concert on Wednesday (1pm) for members of Doncaster Arts and Museum Society at the Chequer Road gallery.
