Arson attack on car in street

A CAR fire on a Sheffield street is believed to have been started deliberately early Saturday morning. The burning Vauxhall Corsa was put out by firefighters on Foremark Road, Firth Park, at around 2am.

Driver stuck in flood

A MOTORIST was rescued by firefighters after his car became stuck in 4ft of flood water at 11.20pm on Thursday. Three crews went to the scene near the ponds at Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire.

Drier sparks blaze

A WOMAN escaped from her home unharmed after her tumble drier caught fire in her home on Cresswell Crescent, Hillsborough, Sheffield.

Firefighters were alerted to the blaze at 8pm on Friday.

Woman, 90, rescued

A WOMAN, aged 90, had to be rescued from her fume-filled home by firefighters after neighbours reported a smell of gas.

Crew members forced their way into the pensioner’s home on Graham Road, Ranmoor, and led her outside where paramedics gave her oxygen.

A VAN was set alight outside its owner’s house on Cemetery Road, Hemingfield, Barnsley.

Firefighters were alerted to the blaze at 1.30am on Saturday.

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to help a disabled woman who was trapped in a lift in her home in Vernon Crescent, Barnsley.

She was trapped at around 2.10am on Saturday and there were fears for her health but crew members managed to free her.

THREE shops in Barnsley had to be ventilated after a wheelie bin was set alight - sending plumes of smoke into nearby businesses.

Firefighters ventilated New Look, Sports Direct and Superdrug. The fire was discovered at 1.30am on Saturday.

A WHEELIE bin went up in flames on Keats Road, Chesterfield, at 4.40pm on Wednesday. Firefighters used a water jet to put out the blaze.

RUBBISH was set ablaze on purpose on Parker Street, Barnsley, at 9.30pm on Monday.
