Charity shop first

CHARITY The Stroke Association is to open its first shop in the UK in Sheffield city centre this Friday.

The Stroke Association Support shop on Charles Street will be the first of its kind in the country and all profits will go to The Stroke Association. Anyone planning a pre-Christmas clear-out is urged to donate items for sale - email collections@strokeassociationsupport.co.uk or call 0114 2748357 for a free collection of unwanted items.

Inde film screening

A NEW independent film will be premiered in Sheffield tomorrow. The Electric Man will be screened at the city centre Showroom Cinema, Paternoster Row, at 6pm. Writer Scott MacKay and director David Barras will also take part in a question-and-answer session at comic shop Sheffield Space Centre, The Wicker, between 2pm and 3pm the same day.

Toe-tapping show

MUSICAL maestros the Free Radicals will deliver a mix of classic rock and Motown at a concert in Sheffield on Saturday. The performance takes place at the Broomhall Centre, Broomspring Lane, from 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 from Rare and Racy on Devonshire Green, or £7 on the door.
