Nun posted devil notes to Nick Clegg
A NUN who sent envelopes containing white powder to Sheffield MP Nick Clegg has been sentenced to a community order.
Sister Ruth Augustus, aged 72, also scrawled slogans about devil worship and freemasonry on the letters to the Deputy Prime Minister. They were intercepted at a mail screening centre and there were fears the power could have been anthrax.
She also sent letters to former Labour minister Baroness Scotland and Conservative MP Edward Leigh.
Augustus, of Leyton, East London, was found guilty of six hoaxes involving noxious substances. She was given a two year community order at the Old Bailey and told to undergo mental health treatment.
Shed set ablaze
A SHED was broken into on Slate Street, Lowfield, Sheffield, overnight a week last Sunday, and an outhouse on Blackstock Road, Gleadless Valley, was raided last Monday. A pile of rubbish set alight on Barnsley Road, Cudworth, was extinguished at 5.15am yesterday.
