Housing bosses to head for estates

BOSSES at St Leger Homes will be looking for issues needing action on three of their estates today.

The company, which runs Doncaster’s council housing, will be out and about taking part in estate walks on the Wheatley cathedral estate, Toll Bar, and Thorne.

The first of the walks sets off from the sports centre on Haynes Road, Thorne, at 9.30am. The Toll Bar walk leaves Villa Gardens Communal hall at 10am and the Wheatley walk leaves St Paul’s Church, on Durham Road, at 2.15pm.

Concern over tree

OFFICIALS at Armthorpe Parish Council have asked Doncaster Council to take action over overhanging trees and hedges on a street corner.

The clerk at Armthorpe has written to bosses at the borough asked for them to look at what they described as the nuisance caused by the greenery on the corner of Oakwood Drive and Southfield Road.

Hypnotist show

Big name stage hypnotist Andrew Newton will be performing his captivating show in Doncaster tonight.

The event starts at 7.45pm at the Doncaster Civic Theatre. It will include audience participation.
