Van flips over but driver is unhurt

FIRE crews were called into action after a van overturned on a Doncaster road.

Officers from Doncaster Fire Station attended the scene in Top Road, Barnby Dun, after the vehicle flipped over at around noon on Sunday.

No-one was hurt. Crews spent half an hour making the scene safe.

Church’s big day

WORSHIPPERS at a Doncaster church will celebrate its reconsecration tonight.

A service will be held at 7pm at St James Church in Hexthorpe which will be attended by a congregation including Doncaster’s civic mayor Coun Christine Mills.

Penny for Tighe

A GREYHOUND rescue charity received a £40 boost as a Doncaster woman raised cash with a Penny for the Tighe event. Linda Allen, of Barnby Dun, collected cash outside the Spa shop on Marlow Road, Barnby Dun, for the Grace Greyhound Rescue charity using her dog, called Tighe, instead of a traditional Bonfire Night guy.

Estate walk plan

HOUSING bosses will tour a Doncaster housing estate today to look for any issues that need to be dealt with. Officials from St Leger Homes will be doing an estate walk around Woodlands New Estate starting at 10am at The Oval shops.
