HOTEL staff in Sheffield have helped raise £1,450 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

Staff at six South Yorkshire Premier Inn hotels – Angel Street, St Mary’s Gate, Arena, Meadowhall, Sheffield Barnsley and Rotherham East – joined forces to organise fundraising activities including a cake stall and sponsored fancy dress as part of the hotel chain’s national charity day.

Church concert

SINGER Garth Hewitt is preparing to perform in a Sheffield suburb.

The founder of the Amos Trust, which promotes justice and hope for forgotten communities, will be singing songs from his new album, Justice Like a River.

The event is at St Columba’s, Crosspool, on Thursday, November 15, at 7.30pm. For tickets, priced £7 for adults and £4.50 concessions, call 0114 267 0006.

Collection change

GARDEN waste collections in Rotherham are changing.

The green bin recycling collection will change to a monthly collection from December until March.

Blue box, blue bag and black bin collections will continue to be collected on alternative weeks through out the year.
