Staff from South Yorkshire’s Police and Fire Authorities, Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, and office supplies firm Vasanta swapped pens for guns, comfy offices for wild moorland.

They were among workers from across Yorkshire on a three-day Army challenge at Catterick. Challenges involved rescuing a downed pilot, abseiling down a sheer drop and crossing a water course to erect a signal.

The exercise aimed to give companies an insight into being a member of reserve forces or a cadet instructor - and boost recruitment.
