New exhibition is picture perfect
WOMEN from the Green Estate in Manor Park opened an exhibition of portrait photographs - starring themselves!
The display is part of a research project called Look at Me! Images of Women and Ageing, which explores how woman are represented in the media as they grow older.
Photographer Laura Pannack worked with 11 women including Elaine Marshall, Pat Russell, Lilian Tootell, June Mitchell, Elizabeth Templeman, Jennifer Clark and Barbara Ashton.
The images were taken around their homes and at Sheffield locations including Heeley City Farm and Manor Lodge.
The images form part of Sheffield University's New Dynamics of Ageing research programme.
One participant said: "I'd like to see more images of older women."
The photos are on display at Dovercourt Surgery, Sky Edge Avenue, until August 6.
