A new website aimed at promoting Sheffield as the UK’s ‘Outdoor City’ has been launched today.
The website, at www.theoutdoorcity.co.uk, is part of Sheffield Council’s drive to rebrand the city in a bid to boost tourism, and attract workers as well as businesses to relocate here.
It has been launched during the European Outdoor Summit, an international conference attended by 300 delegates from around the world.
The website features walking routes, recommendations and guide information.
Coun Leigh Bramall, deputy council leader, said it would help everyone enjoy what residents already did.
A draft outdoor strategy to improve the city’s outdoors recreation is also due to be released this week.
