North Doncaster Development Trust’s Community Transport service has expanded its fleet of vehicles with two new people carriers, one adapted for wheelchair use, after receiving a grant from the Aiming High for Disabled Children project.
The grant was awarded after consultation between Aiming High, parents, carers and young people identified a need to improve transport arrangements which can help them make the most of opportunities for short breaks.
Parent representatives helped NDDT to select the particular models.
Community Transport members can now hire the new vehicles, with priority given to disabled children, young people and their families at all times.
The Bentley-based NDDT’s Community Transport service also hires out 16-seat minibuses.
