THE hunt for missing Ben Needham, from Sheffield, has taken a new twist - with Greek authorities wanting to use specialist scanners to search for his remains.

Greek police want to search the land around the farmhouse from where Ben vanished 21 years ago when he was just two years old.

They have asked for specialist equipment from Britain to be sent to the holiday isle of Kos, where Ben disappeared in 1991, to help them investigate a new theory that he may have been buried by accident near to the farmhouse his grandfather was renovating.

A JCB driver has told Greek police he was excavating earth that day and piling it up near to the farmhouse where Ben was last seen alive when he was playing outside.

But Ben’s mum Kerry Grist, 40, of Ecclesfield, said she is still convinced her son is alive.
