A new sprinkler system is to be installed in a sheltered housing complex in Chesterfield.
The sprinklers are to be installed at properties in Catherine Court, off Chatsworth Road, to protect them in the event of a fire.
Coun Jim McManus, Chesterfield Borough Council’s executive member for housing said: “I attended a fire safety event earlier in the year and had the benefits of this new sprinkler system demonstrated to me.
“I’d like to thank Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service for part funding this sprinkler system.
“We take the safety of our vulnerable residents very seriously and this is why we will also be installing a sprinkler system at Glebe Court and including one in the new Parkside sheltered housing development.”
