SHEFFIELD’s professional football clubs have announced a new sponsorship deal - with the same sponsor.
The Blades and the Owls have signed up to an agreement with telecommunications company GCI Com.
The firm’s logo will appear on the back of both clubs’ new home and away shirts and also on the Owls’ shorts.
SWFC commercial director Andy Daykin said: “Sheffield Wednesday has enjoyed a warm association with GCI Com for some time and this partnership is the next stage of our development with a company at the forefront of the telecommunications business.”
United’s commercial director Steve Coakley said: “It is not the first time that both Sheffield’s professional clubs have worked together to secure a mutual sponsor and we are delighted we can do likewise with GCI Com.”
n Coin-throwing during Sheffield Wednesday’s match with Huddersfield Town at Hillsborough is being investigated by police and the FA. The club condemned the behaviour and said it was reviewing CCTV footage.
