Sheffield’s newest business is holding its first recruitment event to fill 300 jobs in the city centre tomorrow.
XLN, which supplies services such as phones, internet and energy to small businesses, is due to open in an office on North Bank near the city centre next week.
A recruitment open day takes place from 4pm to 7pm at The Crucible Theatre.
Positions available are expected to be in customer service, account management, technical support, telesales, HR, finance and technical development.
Sheffield was chosen by the founder of XLN to be the location for its expansion from London ahead of other northern cities.
Founder Christian Nettleman said Sheffield’s transport links, ‘world-class’ universities and excellent companies were behind the decision.
The news was welcomed by Star readers.
One online reader caller Big Shaun said: “This is excellent news for our great city.”
A second recruitment day also takes place on Saturday at The Crucible from 10am until 3pm.
