A new charity shop is set to open its doors to help support youngsters with a shortened life expectancy.

The Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice’s store, located on Market Street in Chapeltown, Sheffield, will welcome customers from December 19.

It will stock good quality second-hand items, including toys and clothes, as well as new items.

On the opening day there will be a special appearance from Santa Claus, who will be greeting customers between noon and 2pm.

Bluebell Wood’s retail manager James Bower, said: “We are really pleased and excited to be opening our new shop in Chapeltown. All funds raised through our retail department goes towards the vital work we do at the hospice and in the community supporting children and their families.”

Bluebell Wood is currently looking for friendly volunteers with good communication skills to help sort, size and tag donations. The organisation is also seeking volunteers to help serve customers and operate the till during the shop’s opening hours, which will be 9am to 4.30pm every Monday to Saturday.

Those interested should contact 01909 517 360, email joanne.ward@bluebellwood.org or drop into the shop.
