Final preparations are under way for Sheffield’s annual half marathon after organisers revealed a new route.
This year, the race will start and finish at Don Valley Bowl, after its traditional home of Don Valley Stadium was demolished.
Margaret Lilley, race chairman, said: “We are delighted to announce the new route and hope runners are as excited as we are about taking part in the new-look half marathon.
“The main changes are linked to the start and finish, so fundamentally, it retains the same route it has always covered.
“It has been a challenge, but this has now been fixed and a course accuracy certificate obtained.”
The race and 3km fun run, which attracts runners of all ages and abilities, will take place on Sunday, April 6, from 9am.
