New nemesis for grot-spots

Have your say

GRAFFITI, littering and dog fouling have a new nemesis in the Birley area.

Environmental enforcement officer Chris Lukins has been appointed to investigate problems reported to Sheffield Council’s south east community assembly, patrol the area and take action.

The post is a pilot project, funded until March, and will see Chris also issue fines for offences, visiting businesses with litter problems and look into fly tipping.

He is also to report problems like defective street lighting to the council, work in schools to educate pupils and get involved at community meetings.

To contact Chris or report problems, ring the assembly team on 0114 273 6929.
