The Co-operative food store in Kirk Sandall, Doncaster, will unveil a smart new look on Thursday after the completion of a £135,000 refit.
The Brecks Lane store is being transformed with contemporary décor and a new range of chilled beers and wines. Popular services including the Post Office, cash machine and Lottery will be retained. It will feature The Co-operative Group’s business identity which aims to highlight its commitment to supporting local communities and ethical trading policies.
The Co-operative’s popular Fairtrade products will feature and the store will carry their own health and beauty range with products that are not tested on animals.
As part of The Co-operative’s policy to reduce the use of plastic bags, customers will be encouraged to use a greener alternative such as Fairtrade cotton or plastic Bags for Life, which the store will replace for free and then recycle.
“We provide a much valued service for the local community and I am confident our shoppers will be delighted with our improved store and wider selection of goods,” said manager Janet Froggatt.
The store has stayed open while work was carried out.
