THE first phase of a renovation project has been completed at Whirlow Hall Farm.

The farm trust, an educational charity, is renovating the barn to allow better access for disabled users. The shower area is now wheelchair accessible after health insurance firm Westfield Health gave a grant of £9,970.

Joan Ward, head of fundraising at the trust, said: “A number of children stay who have specific educational needs, such as a group from a special school who visited Whirlow for the very first time recently. The group leader described their week as fantastic, adding ‘the barn met all the needs’ which is just fantastic.”

Graham Moore, chairman of Westfield Health, said: “The barn looks marvellous.”
