A Doncaster area Post Office is on the move and will extend opening hours to customers.
Rossington Post Office will move to new premises where it will open as a new ‘main’ style branch with longer opening hours.
The new branch at 6 Nelson Road will be located 500 metres from its current site at Damley Buildings on Queen Mary Road.
As part of Post Office plans to modernise the network and extend opening hours, the new New Rossington Post Office will have four serving positions. Three will be screened and the other will be a Post Office serving point at the retail counter where most Post Office transactions can be made throughout shop opening hours. The same wide range of Post Office services will continue to be on offer.
Post Office customers will benefit from opening hours being extended to 51 hours a week as the branch will now offer services between 9am to 17.30 Monday to Saturday.
The present Post Office will close at 5.30pm on July 21 with the new branch scheduled to open at 1pm on July 22.
Nearby branches in Auckley and Cantley will be open during the closure.
Post Office Regional Network Manager for Central England Adrian Wales said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in New Rossington and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
He added: “This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
