A NEW lab is to give bioscience students at Sheffield Hallam University hands-on experience of cell culture to test and develop drugs and study disease.
The £200,000 facility makes Hallam one of the few universities in the country equipped to offer industry and hospital standard equipment.
Students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels will be taught practical skills.
Dr Susan Laird, head of the department of biosciences, said: “The new laboratory expands the space and equipment currently available to teach students important cell culture techniques.
“It will enhance the student learning experience.”
