A JUDGE was forced to order a new jury in the murder trial of a Sheffield businessman mid-way through the first day.

Proceedings against Imran Khan, 30, accused of killing 78-year-old Anthony Power, owner of lingerie firm Panache, in Sheffield last October were stopped after a juror highlighted a potential prejudice.

The case will resume at Sheffield Crown Court tomorrow morning with a new panel of jurors.

Khan, 30, of Handsworth Road, Darnall is also accused of two counts of battery. The trial is expected to last four days.
