A MODEL of a plague doctor, pictured below, and a host of frightening-looking medical instruments are among the new exhibits which have gone on display at Peak District museum.

The Eyam Connections exhibition is in a new room at Eyam Museum in the Derbyshire village and is now open to the public.

The museum, on Hawkhill Road, Eyam, chronicles the village’s history and the residents’ battle with the plague, which struck in 1665.

The museum is open every day except Mondays from 10am until 4pm and admission is £2.50 for adults and £2 for concessions and children.
