New exhibition gets right to the point

A new exhibition, on the process and history of fine scissor-making in Sheffield, has opened at Kelham Island Museum.

At its peak, in the mid-19th century, there were more than 100 companies in Sheffield producing scissors in hundreds of shapes and sizes. Thanks to National Lottery players this new exhibition, also supported by Ernest Wright Ltd, one of the two remaining Sheffield scissor makers, explains the process and charts the history of fine scissor-making in Sheffield.
